Yesterday was my scheduled 2nd dose together with my wife and after waiting for almost a couple of hours at the vaccination site, I was given my last shot and am done with my vaccination. Hopefully, after 14 days my immunity towards the harmful virus would start to kick in and protect me from the worst of the symptoms it can give me in case I still am infected. It is just timely as the delta variant is creeping in slowly that is why the government is again planning to have another set of quarantine in our place. So far 12 hours after jabbing, I did not encounter any bad symptoms. I just felt sleepy and lethargic last night and warm about 37.4 degrees celsius which is still normal temp for me. I am just waiting for my son's schedule which is scheduled on Aug 3.

Congrats on receiving your second dose! Yeah the Delta variant sounds scary, we've had several cases here too.

@rsa101 Same here. We're also under the movement control order at the moment so many restrictions are still in place.

@rsa101 I had mine on a holiday. If there is inoculation 1st January, take the booster.

@rsa101 You are absolutely right. There is no guarantee that the person vaccinated would not be infected with covid. They claim that those vaccinated will not get severe infection but that is also not true as fully vaccinated people have succumbed to the virus but those are very rare cases so better to get vaccinated.

@LadyDuck Well those are just minor signs but it doesn't mean that if you didn't have them the vaccine didn't work on you. I think the best is to have your antibody checked if they have it. I think there is such a test that would count if the vaccine worked on you but it's just costly to have it.

@rsa101 I had Moderna, as I could not have Pfizer for a heart condition. Those are the only two vaccines approved here in Switzerland. A lack of side effects does not mean that the vaccine is not working.
During Pfizer and Moderna clinical testing, most participants didn’t experience any side effects, but they were protected.

That thought also came to my mind as well. But I know that the effect on people is unique from person to person. I think there was a case in our place where the injections were not pushed in by the vaccination. It's a good thing he took a video of his vaccination and noticed that the vaccine was not pushed inside his arm. He showed it to them to prove that the vaccine was not injected into him. I think the vaccinator was tired already doing the same thing over and over that is why he forgot to push it in.

@rsa101 I got a massage before the injection and I saw the needle went through my arm, the vaccinators must be very careful because they see first where our bones are. And they actually make sure the vaccine gets into our bodies, they generally never forget.

I just felt a little bit nauseated and sleepy and the pain in the vaccine site is felt. Other than that none, no fever, and body pains felt. My son on the other hand who received Astra brand had bouts of fever the past 24 hours but he is able to function well other than having fever.

@prinzcy Actually if the fever is not that high you really do not need to take them. But if you feel uncomfortable having them paracetamol can help relieve those symptoms. I guess having those symptoms is just a sign that the vaccine is really working on your body. Sometimes having no symptoms makes you doubtful if the vaccine is indeed working in your body or not.

@cacay1 Good for you at least you are protected somehow with that 1st dose you have. Soon when you have your second dose you will be at ease dealing with other people around you. Hopefully, we can overcome this pandemic soon with more people getting vaccinated.

@MarieCoyle Sad to know that there are many who do not believe or trust in the vaccine. Although this is not a 100% guarantee but with it you have another layer of protection.

It's always good to know that a fellow countryman is fully vaccinated! I pray that every province in our country will be able to handle well any surge of the number of infections and not resort to hard lock downs at all.
