Last Cataract operation today

Thankfully I had my last operation today and it should be my last. I am so tired of going back and forth to the doctors but at least I am not as bad as a lot of other people. Today I have a small like cage over the eye so nothing gets into it.
I was awake through the whole thing and handled it pretty well. Usually I am a wreck with anything new, but hopefully tomorrow it will all be over. I have to be back there early in the morning.
After all this, I broke a front tooth. I think I am just in a bad time with all these things going on. The worst thing is the dentist is my nightmare and I have always been so afraid of them. I did get a pill to take before going there tomorrow.
Many years ago when I was a kid, I use to go to the dentist and he never used anything to numb the teeth he was drilling. Those days are gone now but that always sticks in my head. I think I should ask him to take them all out so I wouldn't have to deal with this fear any longer.

I hope your eye heals quickly, Best of luck with the dentist and wish you the best, I know the dentist is no fun but take a deep breath and know he will numb your pain,

@ramapo17 Fear is just part of life. Its a way to keep us safe. I am afraid of the cliff cause I know that if I walk too close I could fall and injure myself. I had a torturous time with a dentist when I was a kid. That is where a lot of my needle issues come from.

Glad you got your operation done. I don't think dentures are any picnic either. My mother is getting catracts removed tomorrow. She can't wait until it is over with. She only needs one eye down fortunately.

@LadyDuck I am always thankful that I don't usually have anything wrong with me. I figure this is just a little reminder that some things can go wrong, even with the best of us. I am glad you are healthy also as I wouldn't have met you on here if you weren't.

Sorry you broke tooth. I had mine all pulled a few years ago and have loved the freedom from the pain.

@just4him It is so funny how we put up with things daily and we don't even know we are wrong. Everyday I see different things in my birds cage. The yellow is so bright. I am loving it. I can't wait to clean out my closet and see what clothes I was wearing that didn't match.

That is too bad you now have to deal with the dentist. I hate it too.

@kaylachan It is about 1 1/2 hours, depending on traffic. Sometimes it took us over 2 hours but that was traffic going home from work.

I too fear the dentist a lot but when I must do something, I don't have any choice but to get rid of that fear. Fortunately, I have a good relationship with my dentist. We are of the same age and she's a chatty one. She makes me feel so comfortable.

That is me. Back in my days, I never had anything to numb the pain and that led me to be so scared. I use to come out with all excuses to my parents about why I didn't make it to the dentist after school, from missing the bus or feeling sick or to much homework. I had some good stories.
And I wonder where my kids got some of the same stories.
