Well, forget that idea because I have a better one. Let's repair to the library for cigarettes and literary drinks. You can have cigars if you want but I prefer cigarettes. But your choice of nicotine delivery devices is secondary. Firstonary are the drinks. Let's start with a Death In The Afternoon. It was my friend Ernie's favorite drink and it's really simple. Pour one jigger of absinthe into a champagne glass and top it off with well-chilled champagne. You should end up with something suitably opalescent and milky. To be completely honest, I've never tried one. Ernie tried to get me to drink them but I always stuck to beer. So this is going to be a first for me, too. Ernie says we are supposed to drink three to five of them and if they go well, we can move onto drinks created by Alexander Woollcott and William Seabrook. After that, perhaps there are more.
