I am Italian and I don't know them. I can suppose that "Marinara" is with fish or something like that but about "Alfredo" I am really in trouble. I hope you can visit Italy soon and taste the REAL Italian food. Often the Italian food in Italian restaurant outside Italy is different (and strange) from the original.

Oh wow, that is a tough question because I absolutely LOVE both! If I had to choose though I'd probably go with the Alfredo. I love it! :)

Food habits of most Indians are different from that of West. Though I visited US, I never went in beyond vegetable burgers, sandwiches, cokes, ice creams, salads etc. I am a vegetarian. I have heard of pastas but never ventured to try.

I'm an alfredo girl myself. Here is a recipe for alfrado sauce incase anyone is interested. I've also posted the link to the source below it: Alfredo Sauce Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter or margarine 2/3 cup heavy cream 1 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 teaspoon salt dash of pepper noodles or fettuccine, cooked Directions: Cook noodles or fettuccine according to package directions. Heat butter and cream in saucepan until butter is melted. Remove from heat. Add 1 cup Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper; stir until sauce is blended and fairly smooth. Add to drained noodles and toss until they are well coated. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Variation: Add cooked shrimp, crab or mushrooms. This recipe for Alfredo Sauce serves/makes 2 cups Source: http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/412/Alfredo_Sauce11914.shtml

I love freshly prepared alfredo, but a good marinara will do great things for whole wheat linguine or spaghetti.

Marinara is a bit thin for me. I like a little weight. Definitely Alfredo.
