Congresswoman Liz Cheney

Two Republican Members of Congress are serving on the House Committee investigating the riots of 1-6-21. They are Congresswoman Liz Cheney and Congressman Adam Kinzinger. Some say they have abandoned the Republican Party and turned on President Trump for serving on this committee. Others say they are patriotic American statesmen who are doing their duty to get to the truth, hold the country together, and make sure this never happens again. Please give us the benefit of your wisdom. What do you think, are they traitors in the Republican Party, or Parotitic Statesmen?

@Vikingswest1 Why does that make you laugh? You don't think she's doing it for the good of the country? She's been abandoned by her party's leadership simply for telling the truth so I don't see how her motives can be suspect. And, trust me, I've never been a "fan" of anyone named Cheney in the past but I really respect Liz in this case.

@anniepa
There is no one from either party that does anything that's good for the country.
Posturing for votes Annie. That's all they do. Wake up for crying out loud.

@PeterGagliardi That's how I feel. I'm a lifelong Democrat so I disagree with Cheney on the most issues but that doesn't mean I'm not happy to give credit where it's due. To be honest, while I know neither of them would do it I wouldn't mind a bit if Cheney and Kinsiger switched to the Democratic party. It really is a "big tent" and we don't all agree on everything but that's ok. As long as we agree that it's important to save our democracy that's the main thing at this point in time.

@anniepa I want to thank everyone for their contribution and comments! Please keep the conversation going. Although cynicism is widespread throughout the land, politicians occasionally rise to the occasion and do what is in the common good, and good for the country. As citizens, our mission is to evaluate what politicians are doing, oppose them when their policies only benefit a chosen few, and encourage them when they do the right thing for the good of the country.
