It's okay not to be okay

August 3, 2021 10:49pm CST
So I have been trying to find a new job as my current workplace is operating in some grey area that I am not comfortable with. I have failed in so many interviews due to the lack of confidence and I think the interviewers can smell the desperation of my want to leave. The failed interviews have led me into a downward spiral of lack of confidence and I'm trying so hard to keep positive! (also, i cant leave without a job due to financial commitments) Advice/experience please?

I've failed a hundred times, hurt and embarrassed but doesn't define us, what matter is how we deal with it and see the bright side. Failure is the first step to success. They are complimentary to each other, for you to see that success is waiting for you and you are capable of doing it. So, cheer up.

@rudepotato I'm glad about your post because you are brave enough to express how you feel about your experiences and that's a good thing. I have some struggle from time to time, but I know it's just a process that I need to go through so that I will experience what I envision to achieve.

Everyone passed through this phase but wait for the opportunity and don't loose heart. If your desperation is reflected on your face people start exploiting you.

I can clearly understand the way your facing, i have also lost my job almost 8 month trying to survive. Commitments will be their always but never give up. Its the time were you can test your strengths. Spend more time with your family and loved ones, it will relieve your stress. Rest assured you need to wait for your right time.

Thank you Zabi for your encourgement. It is definitely heartening to know that I am not alone in this and that people are coping with similar challenges as well, regardless of where we are. I will look to spend more time with my loved ones and be grateful for what I have, rather than what I don't. Please keep well too. :)

I can't say were in a similar situation, but I failed my board exam months ago, I feel so upset and I lost so much confidence to myself, I also studied for 7 years in college for a 4 year course! since I'm not a great academic student I was stuck, that's why I was hoping to pass my board exam for only 1 take. And as you can see now, I'm also struggling to find a job. My only advice is that we should not give up and continue to persevere. Challenges in life is always there. Look up to the best solution we can and strive for what you think will give you the best of the best.

Even I have experienced it ....don't worry.....the more interviews you attend, the more confidence you keep getting....I was scared like a chicken when it came to interviews, but I started building up confidence.. I was and am still an introvert...so before going for an interview, I used to make up my mind that am not going to get this job, so let me answer whatever I want to say. So that's how I slowly started building up my confidence.... Don't worry and don't bring in any negative thoughts....nobody in this world is professional right from the birth. Everyone has learnt through their experiences. Just discard the fear....
