Since I have to deal with it on a Daily basis, for me, it would have to be loss of limb, or Eyesite. A Couple of yrs. back I ended up getting Severe Chronic wounds on my right leg, and ended up almost loosing my leg from it. So now I am on the Safeguard watching my legs and skin like a Hawk, and when I see something awry, I am going in and getting help immediately for it. It is now better to be safe than sorry, especially now that I am on Insulin due to having the problems with my leg for so long.

I dont know many people who have Diabetes but those who have it, seems to suffer. They have to be concious of what to eat and how much. Daily jabs are also a must. I see needle marks on the stomachs where the injections are given daily. Loosing of limbs is the biggest worry for them. A tiny scratch if not treated can be infected and worsen until one day, it has to be amputated or cut. Can you imagine an worse nightmare than that?

Person having diabetes have to take many precautions.

Its terrible that you have to take insulin to control your diabetes now.I hope you get better soon.My mother also used to take them and I hated giving injections to her.Its terrible all my family has diabetes problem.I only dread going on dialysis-thats the part I hate.I hope I don't catch it.I have been free of it till now, just got it checked recently. But as its genetic sooner or klater it will catch up with me too.I would love to pass away than to have to go through dialisis treatment.

Well, so far my kidneys are fine. So that is not a worry. Mine is other issues like limited Healing powers, etc.

My mom has diabetes. Her doctor said that it is a complication of hypertension that she has had for years. Her diabetes is not that bad. She does not have to take any insulin yet. But she does have to take maintenance medications to keep her blood sugar at bay. I have read so much here about how bad diabetes can be that I am really beginning to worry for my mom. My worst fear is that her diabetes might get worse and I will loose her.

My husband is diabetic, and i am just so worried that it could one day be fatal. I mean, it is fatal in the longrun, but what if it takes him away faster than it should? I am constantly checking what he eats, if he took his pills, if he took his blood sugar level. He finds it a bit annoying, but i can't help myself.

My whole family on my father's side has or had diabetes and my fear is getting it. My aunt lose her eyes sight from it. She is completely blind. My father has it but he has control over it. It is not a nice diease but it can be control once you do the right thing and do not let it get too far out of control. I undestand your fears.

My worst fears about diabetes is that I am borderline and that it will progress and I won't know it; because doctors where I am I don't trust too much and there is a communication barrier. I feel sick sometimes and wonder if that is the problem. I know it is a dangerous condition. I have family members that have it so I know what it can do.

I have Diabetes and so does my 13 yr old daughter. There are many physical things about diabetes that people dont discuss too much. When I was first diagnosed I went to the doctor concerning the smell of my urin it was scary. I also had a cat scratch that hadnt healed in like 4 weeks. Evwn the way it was healing was odd. I was so tired I couldnt get up from the couch and I was being Labeled LAZY MOM. I was so depressed I didnt know why I couldnt just clean my house. Turns out my blood sugar was so high that it wouldnt even register on a glucometer. They had to do a blood test. I was 2 steps from dying, and I had it for years and I didnt know it. My family had given me lots of grief. I took meds for depression and that wasnt even the problem, actually some of the meds I took have interactions with diabetes. I was 240 lbs and I am 4 11. I have lost 60 lbs and now I am working and I feel alot better. I didnt some perm damage to my body, and my hands and feet go knumb all the time. I was insulin dependant for a while and now I take a pill. DONT IGNORE THESE SIGNS!!!!
