When did your baby stand up on their own? Start to walk? Walk on their own?

I am curious to know when babies are supposed to walk. I guess there's NO right or wrong answer, but I am curious to know if Hannah is where everyone else is. She cannot stand or walk on her own. However, she can stand and walk with me helping hold her arms, and also she can walk her way around the couch holding on by herself. She is 10 months. She has been sitting up since 6 months, and crawling since 6 1/2.

My son started walking by holding on to the couch at about 9 months. He started walking on his own shortly after that.
I did not start walking until after I was a year old if I remember what my mom told me.
My nephew never walked. He an I are only about 2 years apart. He was sitting across the room from me and I had something he wanted and he just got up and ran on his tiptoes to get it. To this day he still walks and runs on his tiptoes.

Every kid is different. My son started standing when he was 15 month old and I was very nervous when all our friends kids started walking early. relax and donot worry they will do it when they are ready and we will just have to wait and see. so donot get tensed just asked doctor if you are concern

Well, like you said, there are no right or wrong times and I'd say your daughter is doing quite well. My son is 11 months and is not crawling yet! He rolls everywhere he wants to go. He can stand if you hold his hands but he is not even close to walking yet. He can't even stand if he is holding on to furniture. He forgets to hold on and has no balance.
My daughter was 17 months when she first started to walk so I'm not expecting my son to be an early walker. I was told by my doctor that as long as they walk before 18 months it is considered within normal ranges.

She sounds perfectly normal/average with her walking. Every baby is different. My oldest was pulling up and cruising the furniture around 8 months, took her first solo step around 10-11 months but didn't walk on her own until 14 months.
My son was the opposite. He was cruising the furniture at 6 months, took his first step at 9 1/2 months and was walking by 10 1/2 months.
My second daughter was more like her sister but she was walking just days after turning 1.
My youngest daughter will be 8 months next week and she has been pulling up on everything and standing for over a month now and is now starting to try and walk along the couch.

my son started cruising when he was 7 months old. but he finally learned to walk on his own at 11 months. it took a long time for him to finally find his balance.

I think it really depends on the individual child. I have 3 children, my oldest (now 4) started walking when he was about 8/9 months. I thought to myself "wow, that was quick." On the otherhand, my daughter (now 2) didn't even show signs of walking without a couch to hold onto until sometime after her first birthday. I was genuinely concerned, but the doctors all told me it wasn't that she couldn't walk necessarily, it's that she wouldn't walk. In short, she was lazy. lol. His remedy for this was for me to sit her in the middle of the livingroom and let her scream/cry/hissyfit her way into a tizzy but not to pick her up and take her where she wanted to go. Sure as anything, a few days of that, and she got up and walked to her toys. lol. I'm a softy when it comes to bittle babies =\. Now then, my youngest son (now 11 mths) started standing on his own at around 6 mths, started walking back and forth in his playpen at around 7 mths, and ever since then walking short distances and then giving up to crawl. Crawling is the faster way to chase your sister around here, lol.

Not my son, however my daughter still liuves at home and my grandson is just starting to pull himself up and learning to walk. He's one year old on 29th. December. Having had three children myself, well at least the wife had them, I just watched, I would agree that there is no fixed age. Children develop at their own pace, some faster, some slower.
The two things that we found retarted the development of walking were the sit in trolleys with wheels for the child to push themselves about in and the bouncy, sprung seats one suspends from doorways. These two items don't help at all.

As I remember on my nieces and nephews they start to stand for about 8 months and they start walking when they were 11 months to 1 year.

My older child started crawling at 6 months, holding on to furniture and standing on her own at 7 months and was walking by 8 months. By comparison, my younger child, started crawling at about 7 months, holding onto furniture and standing on her own at about 9 months, and did not actually start walking until she was a year old. It really just depends on the child and how much you work with them. I was able to work with my first child on walking a lot more than the second child simply because I had more time to spend with her. When the second child came along, I could not give her my undivided attention all the time simply because I had another kid who wanted my attention also.
