Global Pandemic

We've been in this situation for so long. Continuous lockdown with different restrictions have been implemented in our country. We are using face masks and face shield. But what saddens me is that for more than a year, it seems like nothing has change, the situations are just getting worse. Our health care workers are really suffering. They are all tired, physically and mentally. Many already lost their job. Affected people are increasing. Vaccines are not enough. It seems like those months that we were in different restrictions were not enough for the government to assess and plan better on how to handle the pandemic. People are dying. Many are suffering. How long we need to endure this? How about in your country? How do you guys are coping? How does your government handle the pandemic?

here, things are normal. only at the beginning of this situation people were really scared and we were in lockdown for a month or so. it's better now, i'm guessing, but people aren't too careful.

My government is trying as much as it could but right now responsibility relies on the individual perspective

Here the last restrictions will be removed in October if things go as planned, but the number of new cases per day haven't changed much. One of the local doctors from my country was asked when he thought that the pandemic was going to end and he replied: "In a couple of decades if we are lucky. If we are less lucky we will never get rid of it" I think it is going to last for a long time, but I hope he was too pessimistic...

@prashu228 Yes, many of them are frustrated. We are trying very hard to reduce the number of new cases locally, but people have started travelling again, and many of the new cases are people who return from their vacations in other countries.

Considering how things are going I can say I've been coping well. I've heard many stories of people going into depression because of the situation, unfortunately.

@cahaya1983 that's unfortunate people are going into depression .. instead people should learn how to deal with it.. that's better than harming ourselves

@prashu228 Sure, but it's not so easy for many people especially those who have lost their jobs and deprived of so many things since the pandemic hit.

Things seem to be gradually getting back to normal here in the UK. We recently came out of lockdown, although there are some restrictions left - if you go into a hospital you have to put a mask on, for instance. As far as going into shops goes, some ask you to wear a mask and some don't it's up to the shopkeepers. What seems to have made the difference is that the vaccination programme in Britain has gone very well - the majority of the population are vaccinated now, which has resulted in the number of people getting seriously ill being a lot lower than it was a few months ago. There is some concern about this new Delta variation, but nothing major seems to have happened yet. One thing, it's quite common in Britain for us to have a flu outbreak during the winter, so it's quite possible we'll have another rise in Covid infections in a few months, but at the moment things do seem to be improving. I don't know much about the situation in the Philippines, but it sounds like you might be having problems getting everyone vaccinated. Once most of your population are vaccinated, you'll probably start to see things improving there, so just hang on and try to be optimistic.

We are not in lockdown, but we have rules to respect. We must wear the mask to go inside the stores, we need to show the Covid vaccination certificate for other events.

Ok dear. It's the citizens responsibility too to follow the rules which all aren't following. Situation is better in India right now with decline in cases
