Celebrating via Zoom

Hello everyone,
Today we celebrated my Aunt's birthday via zoom, she was happy but what left me sharing this here it was because of what she said.
She said that its been a year yet we're still celebrating her birthday via online (zoom). She said that pandemic took away so much from anyone.
The joy and fun that is presence from celebrating along with the sentimental essence of it was taken away since we can't gather as a whole.
She told us that she missed the old times and she wished that pandemic would be over soon. She hope that before Christmas pandemic would be over.
I do agrees with my Aunt thoughts, it really feels off celebrating any occasions via zoom/online. It just lack so much feeling? Emotions? I can't pinpoint what I felt when I also celebrated it.

@MariaIsHere thank you. The're the sweetest. They also compiled video greetings from my family and other friends. I'm really wishing too for this pandemic to be over so we can physically celebrate birthdays again with our friends.

As long as you can gather with your love ones that counts as a blessing. We live in different cities and every cities here have there own protocols(preventative measures against covid) some looks for Quarantine pass and some Tests

My brother had one for their golden wedding but I did not take part. I prefer a one on one interaction rather than a once in a life time zoom event

Good thing for things like Zoom that let people connect when they can't physically be together. When my nephews had their birthdays in 2020 my brother did a Zoom thing for them. That was kind of weird but at least we got to connect.
