I Got the 'Wrong' Idea ... well, not ''Wrong''; but 'Not the Same as Most People Here'

I mostly just want more people to read my writing, so I find some traffic-exchanges. And it seems like 90% of 'the other sites that want traffic' are trying to convince me to join their programs FOR MONEY. (I realize that myLot also 'tries to convince people that joining brings them money'; and it does (I wouldn't be here if it didn't! ); but not as much (for me, anyway) as a minimum-wage job.) I grew up watching FREE TV. I guess I thought they were all broadcasting FOR FREE (except for the fact that THEY had to buy the equipment & pay for its upkeep). I do suppose that--if I really thought about it--it's obviously NOT free; but I was young. And--building on that & on the idea of FREE borrowing books from libraries--'being able to write on the internet' makes me think that it's "broadcasting for free." I guess I'm kinda confused at 'why I'm not a household name yet'---as "that word-guy on the Internet." And it's because--since most people have to PAY to distribute THEIR messages (like we all have to pay for our machines, our internet-service connections, and the energy to run them)--they cant/don't-want-to help me spread my message unless I pay them.

Nothing in life is truely free. People have to make their money somehow. We all end up paying even when we think we're not.

A minimum wage job earns you much more than mylot does for sure. There are sites or people who will help drive traffic to your sites/pages but they will ask you for money to do that. And probably lots of money.
