India finally won a gold medal at Tokyo Olympics. / myLot

Good morning, good evening everybody on mylot. It is 8.45 in the morning of Sunday, 8th August. It is a bright sunny day at the moment although it was cloudy and drizzling in the morning. I had my morning walk today although there were some dark clouds and it had just drizzled. I had my morning walk after several days. Rains and laziness were the reason. Feeling better today after a normal walk. Yesterday was the great day in the history of Indian sports. We won first gold at Tokyo Olympics. It was the first individual gold after 13 year and first ever in athletics. It was best ever Olympics for the country in terms of medal tally. India won 7 medals in all, one gold, two silver and four bronze. Let us hope this Olympics becomes game changer for the Indian sports. Wish everyone a happy weekend.

@msdivkar At present Punjab and Haryana are supporting more than other state to sports. It is time that other states also promote sports. In this Olympic. Odisha sponsored both hockey teams.

Congrats for getting gold medal in Olympics. It's good to see that we won a medal in athletics where we have never performed good. Even Milkha Singh and P. T. Usha could never won the medal.

You are absolutely right. Our dreams finally have come true. There was a time when our entire squad which always was very large, came empty handed. This is a big improvement over that and I am sure our squads is going to perform much better here after.

@sjvg1976 Yes that is true and now there are facilities. Every state has number of sporting facilities which were lacking earlier.
