It's chicken tocino and sunny side up with steamy hot rice this morning. With achara of course, a pickled papaya that serves as appetizer.
My daughter came down two hours past noon and asked, 'What will you eat for lunch, Ma?'
'Tocino,' I answered without getting up the bed. I made an effort to finish up all mylot notifications and that lulled me to sleep.
Apologizing to everyone if I, in some way, failed to respond properly. The never click without checking was superseded by the desire to clear the backlog.
Anyway, finally rose up in dire need of caffeine. I stirred one and prepared my late lunch. It's actually known as 'tocilog' in Filipino carinderia lingo - toci for the tocino and log for the itlog (egg).
Mangan tayon! (Let's eat)

History tells us your people had come to our islands centuries ago. They were called "Bombay." Very good merchant traders. They were the original motorbike riders of the 60's and the 70's.
I do not know the origin of achara but it could likely be from your country.

Tasty and satisfying. Am sure you will like it. Very palatable to any tongue. Except for the Polish, I suppose.

Am a bread eater also. But not choosy about what particular type of food to eat on a particular meal.

It's grated green papaya with grated carrots in brine. Strips of onions could be added, some raisins, and ginger.
Fresh and crunchy green papaya pickles in a garlicky, sweet brine—this atchara recipe is a fast and easy pickling process that anyone can make at home. I wouldn’t eat any Filipino bbq (or any boodle fight for that matter) without this atchara as a side.

We have a similar appetizer too, usually made of mango or papaya, it's a sweet-sour-spicy combination. I'm drooling already!

It was a free pack from Mag--lia every time you buy more chicken, according to my daughter who did the grocery.
You are right, the freezer must always have packs of chicken tocino and longganisa.

@rakski Yup. the preservatives are not good for people with ailments. That is why we opt for chicken tocino and cook with water first, throw, and fry with olive oil.
Drink lots of water hours after.

That humble meal usually produces a 'hungry again' reaction.
Come on, let's eat again.
