If someone gives you something as a gift or asks your opinion about a dress or dish which you really don't like, how do you respond?
I mean i find it very hard to praise something which I don't like but don't want to hurt other person's feelings.
How do you deal with such a situation?

If someone gives you a gift, may it be simple, or expensive, or even something you don't like, a sincere "Thank you" would be enough to let the giver know that you appreciate their intention
If they ask your opinion about a dress or dish, just let them know what you think. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
No need to praise anything you don't really like because you're just being dishonest to yourself.

I will gladly accept it and find a good use later on.

i get gifts from close friends so they always know what i like and dislike. but anyways, i guess we're not supposed to say bad things about gifts. someone else thought we'd like that. maybe it was the best thing he can afford.

My brother usually gives me good gifts that I like for my birthday and Christmas, but last Christmas he gave me a pair of pyjamas. I don't like wearing pyjamas. Fortunately he never asked me what I thought of them, so I didn't have to lie. I suppose I could use them to lounge around in, in the daytime, but I don't like wearing pyjamas in bed. I wear silky nighties in bed.
