Hi everyone,
I'm back. (I was actually thinking on quoting Eminem, or Arnold Schwarzenegger for this) but I think it's sufficient just to say that I'm back and happy to be posting again.
This year has been, in a word, rough so far. Mostly I'm experiencing fall out from the passing of my best friend back in March. I suppose, if I call it what it is, it's depression the likes of which I have never experienced before, and a resurge of anxiety. While I've lived with anxiety all of my life - it's returning to a more severe state.
But I don't mean to appear ungrateful - there are a lot of positives in my life . My momma is healthy and doing well, we feel comfortable being out and about now (yes!) thanks to being vaccinated (yes!), I have been on a lot of fun adventures this year, I have my health, and I have a lot of wonderful friends. I'm so thankful for all of these things and more.
However life still feels, for the most part, surreal. Nothing feels grounded or rooted ... it all seems like a dream. Well, not a nightmare, exactly and not a fantasy-like dream. Just like things aren't quite real? Maybe it's from coming out of the pandemic, or maybe it's the personal stresses of the past few years... or a combination.
Anyway! I have missed my MyLot friends - and the acting writing on a more regular basis. I hope all of you have been well and happy, and that you'll catch me up on how you are and how this place has been doing :-)

Welcome back. I'm sorry you were depressed and anxious. I'm sure the pandemic had a lot to do with it. Even I had a bout of depression and I don't get depressed. It was due to the pandemic and not going anywhere. That's over, and I'm back to my normal routine.
As for catching up, I'm moving. I started looking for a new place in April and got accepted at the senior community complex right behind where I live in July. I move next month. 30 days from today I get the keys. I have people from church helping me move on the 11th.
On another note, my next book, Vendetta, will be published in the next few days. I started the publishing process and am doing the final read-through for cohesiveness. It's going well.

Wow! Sorry to hear you experienced the depression too. It's rough when your own brain attacks you. Gr! At least that's what it feels like. Happy all is well now. Wow! I'm excited for your move, And happy you have help and congratulations on the book.

@just4him Ah parental issues seem so often an underlying cause in those who commit violence. How do you pick the names of the characters? That always seemed like it would be tough, to me

I think the last couple of years have been bad for everyone. At least we got rid of Donald Trump.

It's been kind of slow-ish here but I've been working hard each day to get paid each month. Life can be stressful at times, but it's all in how we handle it that allows us to grow as people.

@FayeHazel The problem with the Delta variant is that you can catch it even if you've had the vaccine or have had Covid before...

Thank you for the warm welcome :-D I have heard the Delta variant is picking up. I have hopes that soon enough people will be immune either from having had it (which sucks) or from vaccine that this thing will be not as much of a problem

@DaddyEvil My understanding was that the vaccines don't 100% stop Delta - but make it a much higher chance that you won't get dangerously ill or may be asymptomatic, and less able to spread it (though still able) .... but I haven;t been researching much

Aw I'm happy we're both back! And on the same day too. Sorry you're feeling the same. It, isn't terrible, but it isn't comfortable, either. At least in my opinion. Yes! Time does seem to pick up speed, doesn't it. Nice to see you here

Hi Faye and welcome back. It has been a long time. I love your title and so glad you were not abducted by aliens. I am so sorry about the loss of your best friend. I am so glad that your Mom is doing well. It is good to have you back. This corona has done a number on us and I wonder if it will ever go away or will we have to live with it forever.

Well it's my first interaction with you I guess. But looking at the responses I could see that you are well liked and missed by everyone.
Sorry about your loss. There are lots of them who have lost their near and dear ones. Just bring in the positivity and move on. Would love to see you more often.

Hi Sam Charles - nice meeting you. I've been here for a few years, fairly regularly.... just got out of the habit of posting, but this is a really wonderful community and I've missed everyone.

I had a few anxiety attacks in the last 6 years, so I know how it feels.. My first major anxiety attack was way back 2014..The ambulance officer that came to help, because I thought I was having a heart attack, said that it was anxiety, and that I have to be careful and try to manage it, because it could lead to serious depression.. So I make sure that I am aware of the triggers and I am working hard to stay calm..
I just came back to mylot too after two years.. And I'm glad to catch with everyone here again.. Sorry to hear about your friend's passing..Take care ..

I'm sorry to hear you experienced that anxiety as well. I've often wondered why some people need to deal with it at all. But, we learn to cope. Thanks for the kindness. I'm happy you're back too! :-)
