Parents Are Supposed to Try to Keep Their Children Safe!

Aren't they? When you have a child, he or she is your responsibility as a parent. At least, that is what I grew up believing. I think it is still true. Or is it? So, I am friends with a young couple not far from here. They have 3 young boys, 8, 5, and 18 months. I like them, they have always seemed so hard working and nice. Enter the pandemic. The mama decided that she and her hubby didn't need vaccines, that God would keep them from getting Covid-19. So, they didn't get their shots. Now ALL of them, all 5, have the virus. The little guy is in the hospital and not doing so well. The 8 year old is pretty sick, he may be going to the hospital before long. And they just tested positive 3 days ago, it's the variant, and it's moving fast here. So, the parents cannot be with their baby at the hospital, because they have the virus. The mama is hysterical at home with her husband and the other 2 boys. She said that she had faith they would all come through this, and she didn't trust the vaccine. I can't imagine having a baby in the hospital and not being able to be there. She says well, maybe we should have gotten vaccines, we take vitamins so I thought we would not get sick. This all could have been avoided. What if the parents end up super sick and the other 2 boys don't? They are all positive and in quarantine. People need to THINK these things through. This is so sad and it hurts my heart.

Possibly could have been prevented with mask wearing and vaccines for the parents. NOW they wish they had vaccines. Too little, too late.

@MarieCoyle True. They are a little too late. Most people affected recently are those unvaccinated. MY sister's nephew (and partner) from her husband tested positive. They are unvaccinated. The father of the nephew tested positive but no symptoms because he was vaccinated (Chinese vaccine). So he will just quarantine, observe and take vitamins. The mother is negative, she is vaccinated with Pfizer

@rakski I heard today the little guy isn't doing very well at all. I am a big fan of getting vaccinated. I hope they all feel better soon.

That is a sad story to hear. I have no against anyone who doesn't want to get vaccinated, instead I feel worried about them. The new variant is now affecting young kids. Every parents should think what's the best for their kids nowadays. Their kids' health and safety are the parents responsibility.

Yes, they need to think of the kids first. The Dad didn't want to wear a mask at work, so he didn't. He brought the virus home, and gave it to his wife and children. I can't help but think it might have been avoided.

@Milottt Yes. It most likely could have all be avoided. Parents should be doing anything and everything to keep their little ones safe right now. At least, this is how I feel about it. Thank you.

@MarieCoyle oh myyy. Now the kids suffered because of him being irresponsible. I pity the kids. And yes, it could have been avoided if he should've been careful at least for his kids.

This is sad. I'm sure they're among of many cases like that too.

The sad stories are so plentiful. So many regrets. It truly bothers me that there are people who have close family literally dying, on a ventilator, and yet they still advocate for no mask wearing and no vaccines. Vaccines save lives.

The sad reality is, is a vaccine isn't a guarentee that something like this could've been avoided. Vaccines fail, you can still get sick. They supposedly prevent the more sever symptoms, but there's no guarentee it will. Bare in mind, the vaccines are still in clinical trials, and you can't believe what social media tells you about their affectivness or efficy. Could it be prevent, maybe, maybe not. You don't know. Only the parents could've gotten the jab, not the children. They are still too young. So no the vaccine isn't god's answer to protection no matter what the media will spin. It's like the flu shot.

In this case it was proven the Dad brought the virus home from work. He was unwilling to wear a mask.

It is sad seeing people needlessly suffering (especially the children) over something so easy to prevent.

It truly is sad. A little planning and this might have been avoided.
