What things to do during a pandemic so you don't get bored

August 12, 2021 5:03am CST
I've been staying at home for a long time, and there are so many activities that I do but don't last long, I don't really know Is it because I can't be consistent with something or is my intention lacking. I've been painting, learning languages, blogging but nothing lasts long. What do you do so you don't get bored?

@Elisa02 All sorts of things. I read magazines like Doctor Who magazine and painting magazines like The Artist and Leisure Painter. Then I like to read books on history, travel and nature. Then I like to read biographies and autobiographies. Then I like to read educational books like Welsh language learning. Then I like to read novels. My favourites are science fiction, then fantasy, mystery and detective, and sometimes day to day story type books like war time stories, but those are usually given me by a friend, I wouldn't just go out and buy those myself. I've got a selection of Shakespeare plays on my bookcase and I must get round to reading those some day. I have Our Mutual Friend and Great Expectations by Charles Dickens too. I've also got Wuthering Heights, Black Beauty, The Wind In The Willows and an old book that I inherited from my Grandad Brown, but I forget what it's called. I also have a couple of books that I've kept that I got as Sunday School prizes, one is called Secret in Silver, and the other one I forget what it's called, but it's about a donkey. I've got loads of books that I haven't read in ages and books that I've not read yet. I've got so many books that they won't all fit on my bookcase. Some of them are in a plastic box on the floor of my bedroom and some of them are on a shelf at the top of my wardrobe.

Well, I suppose you can add myLot to one of those activities. I find it hard to get bored, honestly. I rarely find myself with nothing to do because I always look for something to occupy myself with. I can read for hours if I'm not interrupted. YouTube and Pinterest might offer some ideas to help you if you're looking for a new hobby.

I do many things, like working out, listen to music, write posts here, reply to others posts. Sometimes I get bored too but we need to move on

It's normal to feel bored, so you have to find something you really love. I've been doing gardening, walking on the beach and look for a special shape sea-rocks and collect them, watch movies, doing some experiment in cooking and meditate.

I have been journaling and improving my calligraphy skills. I can relate to you because whenever I would start doing somethin, I would end up not finishing it. It's like I love the thrill of beginnings but I gradually lack motivation along the way.
