A Little Piece Of The USA Right Here In Guelph.

13 years and 11 months ago my husband and I got married in Mayer Arizona. We eloped at the courthouse, and on our way back to Sedona, we stopped and ate dinner at Denny's. It was nothing fancy, but we had an amazing time.
Would you believe that one opened up here in Guelph Ontario, just last month? Our anniversary is coming up, so guess where we're going? Now that we have one, that's going to be a new tradition. We affectionately call the place "the US Embassy" since it's a place we can go here in Canada when we miss the USA.
I am a Canadian, my husband is an American, and no matter which country we chose, we'd still miss aspects of the other.
If you have made homes in various countries, what are your favourite ways t experience one, when you live in another?

We haven't moved together to another country (yet), but my husband did live in Brazil for a few years before we were together. While he was there, he missed a certain brand of cookies. Being in the U.S. now, there are aspects of Brazilian culture that he misses.
If/when we leave the States (something I'm leaning toward), I am certain that there are a few foods that I'd likely miss. Also, I still haven't figured out how exactly I'd source the particular brand of cat food that we buy or if we'd have to switch brands. Plus, the loss of Thanksgiving would be sort of odd for me; I'd probably end up being one of those expats that still celebrated it.

I can't speak to living in different countries. I have visited different countries, and the US is home. I grew up in one state, and have lived most of my adult life in a completely different state. The state I live in is home. The one I grew up in would be somewhat foreign to me if I went back to visit now, even though some aspects of it influenced who I am.

I have not lived in other countries, unless you count California but I do like to go to Denny's once or twice a year.

As a former resident of Guelph, I'd like to know the location of Denny's.

I've never lived outside the U.S. but I've always believed home is where the heart is.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Denny's was our favourite restaurant chain when we were on the US westside in 2008. Since I am hesitant to visit the USA again... we need to go see you again one day *lol*
