Fruit of my Labor

I'm now enjoying the fruit of my labor. My lemon grass plant is at the moment so lush that I can now start to harvest and make wholesome and healthy lemon grass tea for myself. And aside from that there is so much satisfaction in being able to at last harvest what you sow in the ground after so many months of caring and waiting. According to the Medical News Today "Drinking lemon grass tea can have diuretic effects..." What other health benefits you know of from lemon grass?

Congratulations for your plant. Lemongrass helps prevent the growth of some bacteria and reduces fever.

I love lemon grass! I only "discovered" it maybe about 3 years ago. I have heard that it is healthy, but honestly I just love the taste of it (we make a Thai lemongrass chicken - oh so good). During the pandemic, we had fun growing some too.

@cacay1 Is lemon grass used in Phils cooking? My mom never used lemon grass in her Japanese cooking, so I didn't even know about it til later in life.

It's very easy to make lemon grass tea. Just pick one stalk. Don't pull out the roots. Wash the stalk with running water then cut out the tips of the leaves then wrap around the stalk. Place in a tall glass then pour hot boiling water. You can add honey.
