Taking advantage of pandemics

I just read the news. Thousands of people are fooled by web sites and online apps. I don't understand why they would deceive people in this situation. I hope that doesn't happen in your country. I believe this is happening because of how much free time they have left. And their economic needs are high and they need to be met. So it is easy for them to accept any form of false information without having been verified first. I'm really, really sorry about all this.

This is why I think media literacy has to be taught to students in school. It's very easy to fall for such information when one doesn't know how to distuinguish between fact and fiction.

@Pribadhiyanuar It has already started but more as an alternative or elective subject. My 12-year-old son took a media literacy class before.

I completely agree with your opinion. But we can't expect anyone to start that.

People are being deceived all around the world about the pandemic. It happens in every country. I wish it was illegal to give false information online to stop this kind of thing.

@Pribadhiyanuar There isn't a way yet. All we can do is explain to the people who spread the false information that it isn't true... Most of them won't listen to us and still believe the lies.

It's not that these websites have come up in this pandemic. These are well before it and it's up to the person if he/she gets deceived from it or not. I remember once I fell in trap of such app which asks people to put monet and gamble. I lost $10 but then I uninstalled it

Is that so? Instant things sometimes produce things that aren't good.

Thank god you survived. Indeed, such deception is alarmingly likely to find an appropriate solution to the problem.
