There will be no peaceful solution. My guess is that, as we speak, lists are being compiled of those that supported the US and those that don't follow their version of Islam. If Afghanistan can't defend her own interests, it will become a third world Islamic State. The bloodbath is about to begin.

Well , in first place we shouldn't be there(USA) as far as I am concerned all these countries that have problems should try on their own to solve their problems and we should not get involved. I don't know what we gained from being there for 10 years. We lost about 10,000 GI's and all the money we spent.

@coolsite I agree. The US shouldn't have to play the part of world babysitters. But ignoring the issue isn't in our best interests. Many of the places we put troops on the ground, asked for help because they couldn't solve their own problems. It's a tough call when it's right to intervene.

look we been doing this for generations and now it's about time we stop period. You wouldn't believe where we have troops, all over and most of them are not needed to be there. The problem is suppose we bring them all back home, what they will be doing? jobs is a factor. If it was up to me I will have GI's take care of our long borders and do not pay over 100k a year salary and benefit to boarder patrol.

I’m afraid Kabul will be back in Talaban hands while the last US flight it taxiing down the runway. Rule #1 of military strategy is you never EVER tell the enemy what you’re going to do. Trump, then Biden, said, “We’re leaving by the end of 2021.” And look what happened. It’s Vietnam all over again.

You are 100% right we should keep it in secret and when time frame permits starts pulling out the troops by one stage at the time. One way or another I am glad that we are out of there.
