In 1958 Elvis was drafted into the US Army and assigned to the 3rd Armored Division in Friedberg, West Germany. Today is the anniversary of his death in 1977.
In 1961 Patsy Cline recorded one of her best-known songs "Crazy" which was composed by Willie Nelson and became here signature song. The success of the song not only put Cline in the limelight but also helped to launch Nelson as a performer and songwriter.
In 1962 Stevie Wonder at the age of 12 came out with his first single "I Call It Pretty Music (But The Old People Call It The Blues)' The single featured Marvin Gaye on drums.
In 1970 the top five singles were number 5 Free "All Right Now" number 5 Shirley Bassey "Something" number 3 Hotlegs "Neanderthal Man" number 2 The Kinks "Lola" and number one Elvis "The Wonder Of You"
In 1975 The Stylists were at number one on the UK singles chart with 'Can't Give You Anything (But My Love)' It became the Philadelphia soul group's only UK number one
In 1997 on the 20th anniversary of the death of Elvis more than 30,000 fans gathered in Memphis, Tennessee for a 10-minute mourning circuit by his grave. Many of them were keeping an eye out for Elvis himself, but I know he was there in spirit and loving that he was remembered.
The same year Will Smith was at number one on the UK singles chart with "Men In Black" and stayed at the top for four weeks. The song won him a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.
In 2015 One Direction were at number one on the UK singles chart with "Drag Me Down"

In honor of Elvis, my favorite Elvis song. We were at the country music conference one year, having a picking party at Studio B, and I broke into this song. The co-chair walked by and said, “You know, Elvis stood right where you’re standing when he recorded that.” I waited for the walls to fall down.
Elvis recorded His Latest Flame on June 26,1961 in Nashville at RCA's Studio "B". The song was written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman.

@RasmaSandra Yes, that's true. No wonder some of them had trouble coping with the fame and fortune.

elvis yes, even though he is famous but it seems like rock and roll music is not my interest.
but i like elvis who struggles in the world of music, what i remember most about elvis is his white pants on stage which are similar to cowboy pants and his long hair beard

I think that Elvis got to be a Seargent in the Army, but he was the King, everywhere else...
I think that he never left America again after that stint in Germany, except for a short jaunt into Canada, for a few concerts there.
