how is new york city?

I have, for a long time, wanted to visit NYC. I feel I have to visit it sometime in my lifetime, since its such a sentral town in the world. Can anybody, who lives there, how the city is like?

I havent been to NYC. ALl I know is that its one of the best City in the U.S. It is where majority of work/business takes place.
