More microwave baking

In a fit of enthusiasm after my previous coffee-and-walnut-cake success, and after realising that the recipe was very similar to a ‘normal’ (i.e. conventionally-baked) cake recipe, I thought I would try a regular sandwich cake and take it round when we called on our neighbours. I made the mixture as usual and divided it between two silicone cake ‘tins’. Then I cooked each one separately in the microwave for a couple of minutes. After that they were both still a bit gooey-looking in the middle, so I cooked each one again for another minute or so. I can’t remember the timing exactly but I think it was perhaps 30 seconds too much as the cakes ended up a tiny bit dry around the edges. As a first attempt though it was pretty successful. They did look pale of course (not suitable for @vandana7 who has admitted to being scared of white cakes!) but filled with cream and jam and topped with sifted icing sugar the end result was quite presentable and the flavour was good!
