Charlie is back!

I was there and waiting when the office opened up at 6 pm. I left a $2000 deposit on Sunday night and wound up having to pay an additional $640 tonight. Then they got him, gave me a few muscle spasm pills, and gave me a couple of cans of prescription food for him. Then we were on our way. We got back here, I opened up the carrier, and he immediately walked out of it and into the kitchen. He had a few bites of dry food and then proceeded to pee on the kitchen floor, the carpet in the dining room, the bath mat in the bathroom, the doorway, and then once again in the kitchen. I was like WHAT. THE. HELL. I immediately called the vet and was like "hi I literally just left there 20 minutes ago with Charlie. He is peeing all over the place." The tech said that removing the urinary catheter is irritating (hence the muscle spasm pills) and not to be worried as long as there was urine coming out. She said this could last for up to 12 hours. Great. I will have to lock him in the bathroom tonight because I can't have him peeing all over the carpet. I just gave him one of the pills and then opened up a can of the special canned food for him. He is going to town on that. The other 2 cats didn't have any issue with seeing Charlie back here again. I know sometimes they will growl and hiss at the returning cat because they smell strange. That didn't happen. I would have preferred that to the pee but oh well. Anyway Charlie is back and hopefully he settles back in soon.

They should have told you, before you let Charlie loose in the apartment! Why didn't they say anything? Anyway, I'm thankful he's back home where he belongs, safe and above all else, he's loved

I jammed the pill down his throat and he hasn't been drinking any water so hopefully it will be an uneventful night.

@NJChicaa When my cat needed medication, I buttered the caplet. That way it slid down, with little effort.

That is a handful for you both in terms of taking care of him not to mention the money that you had to spend. That shows your love for Charlie

Same thing happened with Chilly when we had him checked out for a simular problem. I'm glad you have your boy back. By the morning he should be back to his old self.

@NJChicaa Glad Charlie is back where he belongs and I hope he settles in soon too. Good idea to put him in one room so he does not pee on all other stuff.
