When Memories Like Waves Come Crashing In

A couple of days ago my beloved soulmate Martin came to me in a dream and took me out for an ordinary day in Riga, Latvia. Just like always, we were at the Riga Central Market purchasing groceries and fresh foods. We discussed what we were going to buy and for at least a couple of hours it was just like yesterday. I knew it was his way of soothing me because of the anniversary of his death coming up. I really appreciated that. So now yesterday August 17 four years ago was on a Thursday. My stepdaughter and I had brought Martin to the emergency at the hospital on Wednesday. I woke up that morning in 2017 thinking that I would see him tomorrow and hoped he could start whatever procedures he needed and could relax from us - me and my stepdaughter Mara - ladies who put him in the hospital in the first place. However, that very day he left us and I spent the rest of the day and week trying to deal with the inevitable. The following day which was a Friday I awoke to a wild and crazy wind blowing through the treetops, I realized that Martin was upset that he could no longer be with his loved ones on earth. He was even-tempered but could get upset when things just did not seem right. The wind blew all that day and finally, in the end, calmed down and then I knew he had accepted what had happened and he and I could communicate with each other in a new way. So four years and counting but nope it does not get easier. However, as you see in the photo I have a face to make me smile and say, "Grandmama, don't be sad I am here for you."
