Divorce Insurance!!

This is something I would consider in this day and age. Too many people are taken to financial ruin after a divorce! After five years the divorce insurance would kick in and the man would not have to pay alimony. The insurance would cover this for two years. Would you buy divorce insurance.

I wouldn't. Alimony typically lasts a lot longer than 2 years. My ex and I were able to come to an agreement on finances that didn't involve alimony or financial ruin. He took on a lot of debt but I didn't feel badly about that as he is the one who wanted the divorce.

@db20747 He is a good guy and wanted to make sure that I'd be able to support myself on my own. He offered a few different scenarios. We didn't even get lawyers involved in the divorce. I walked away with no debt except for my student loans.

Good that yours was worked out without financial disaster. Many people especially ladies, end up with little money. For ex. Tisha Campbell, had 7.00 in the bank after her divorce

@db20747 I believe there are only two nations without divorce: the Philippines and Vatican City.

Didn't realize divorce insurance existed. Not sure if I would take it.

I think it is good to offer the public because of the high rate of divorce. But, my husband and I would not buy it because we know we will never get divorced. We have been married 33 years.
