Day 69 1 Samuel 2:1 And Hannah prayed, and said, “My heart rejoices in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. 2 “There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. 3 “Talk no more so exceedingly proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. 4 “The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength. 5 “They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble. 6 “The LORD kills, and makes alive: he brings down to the grave, and brings up. 7 “The LORD makes poor, and makes rich: he brings low, and lifts up. 8 “He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them. 9 “He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. 10 “The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.” Does praise come easy to you when life is good? Or do you forget to praise God when He answers your prayers? Hannah gave Samuel to the Lord, and rejoiced, praising God for answering her prayer. God lifted the curse on her life and gave her a child. She no longer had a broken heart. Hannah could pray a prayer of gratitude to God for all He did for her. Amid Hannah’s prayer, you see promises about who God is and what He does for His people. You also see what God does to your enemies. He breaks your enemy’s strength while providing everything you need. As Christians, have you considered God’s promises? Do you praise Him when He answers your prayers? Don’t take God’s promises or His answers to your prayers for granted. Why would He answer your prayers if you don’t praise Him in the good and bad times? Hannah continually prayed for a son. When God answered her prayer, she praised Him for His goodness to her. God is good all the time. You should always give God praise. Let’s pray: Father, I give You praise for all You give me. You break down walls Satan built against me. You give me my daily needs. You give me strength in the battle. You lift me out of the pit of despair and set my feet on solid ground. Fill me with Your truth as I see You work in my life. Let my mouth always praise Your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 21 August 2021 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay.
