My daughter is 8 month old, I have'nt started her on table food as yet, recently she has taken an intrest in what I am eating, do you think I can start giving her french fries or a little peice of whatever I am eating, I know that they are not suppose to have dairy product or product with nuts but tonight I made some french fries for dinner and I am tempted to give her one but I am scared she might choke.. Is it too soon to give her one?

Im sure many people will tell you yes its too soon. But I am much like my mother and at 8 months old my children started sampling table foods. My kids love food:] and they arent totally picky. My sister waited and did everything by the book and my niece and nephew now eat only certain things. She hates it. She trys and trys but they refuse. Its up to you, but you need to really watch them and be careful. If you want to you should try and get the baby some of the gerber snacks the softer ones or the ones that dissolve easily. My kids still love those!

they have these lil puffy snacks veggie puffs and apple puffs they are more like lil finger foods. those are prtty good. I dont give them food on the sofa especially if its the first time they are trying it. LOL try giving it to her on the floor on a towel or something. My babies loved beans and rice too! Broth from soups we ate...they just love to taste.

I think we started giving my kids table food between 9 months and a year. I wouldn't start with fries though. See how your baby does with the "cookies" in the baby isle in the grocery store. Those dissolve so you don't have to worry too much and you can see how she does with that first.
