My Agenda For Today

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday Everyone! it's a beautiful summer day here today. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the sound of the lawn crew is off in the distance. You know it's Wednesday here once you hear those mowers!! I wrote in my last post that my Aunt who is 97 years old contracted Covid and is in the hospital. Yesterday they moved her to hospice so now we're just waiting for that phone call to say she's gone. I know what my cousins are going through as it just brings back the memories of my moms final days after she had her stroke a few years ago. (that's my update and thanks for all your good thoughts, prayers and hugs) Today I'm trying to keep my mind occupied so I decided to clean out cabinet in my kitchen that seems to be the junk cabinet. Do you have a junk drawer? Well I have a cabinet. Everything that doesn't have a home seems to find it's way there. I can't believe how much stuff was shoved in there. Of course I found things I forgot I was looking for. I have stuff sorted...toss, keep and donate. I have a sturdy box to place the stuff for donation so that will go into the garage next to the few others that are ready to go. Next thing is to call for a pick-up. My organizing and decluttering which started off with a bang in the spring quickly fell by the wayside. Now that fall is approaching I feel the need to tackle these jobs once again. I probably make it sound like my house is full of clutter but that's really not the case. It's neat and tidy but I do have things I don't use anymore and should get rid of. The one things I'm going through now is a whole bunch of warranties and manuals for appliances, etc. I'm sure as the years have passed some of those will be tossed as I probably don't even have those things anymore. That's my day unless something changes. Now it's time for coffee!!! surprise Hope you're having a good day

Also my Mom was moved to the hospice after she suffered a serious stroke, she was also 97, she lived 6 weeks. I am really sorry for your Aunt. I do not have a junk drawer, but I have a box downstairs in the basement where I put things that have not a specific place where to be stores... often the one box becomes two boxes... at the third I know that it is time to declutter.

@Marilynda1225 I hated to see my mother like that and I knew very well that she did not want to live as a vegetable. As much as I loved her,I hoped to see her go. I cannot believe how many things I have that I do not need or never use. I wonder why I bought.

My mom lived 21 days after she had her stroke and was in hospice. Such a agonizing time. I remember when your mom passed away Anna. We've been through up and downs through all the years we've been friends. I can't believe I have so much stuff but most of it are things I don't use anymore.

We have a shelf in the top of the linen closet that is a junk shelf and so much ends up here in the office where I work from. Sometimes I wonder what I got rid of to downsize, or if everything I kept just grew. It will soon be time for my second cup of coffee, I will raise my cup and salute you and send you happy vibes for the day.

My junk drawer is packed and waiting for the move. I did sort it first so I didn't take those old warranties with me for things I no longer have. Still, it's a full box. I'm sure you'll be glad to see those donations leave home.

It will only be a few boxes for donation but at least it won't be here anymore.

Yes, not accomplishing much at the moment, but the day so far has been fine, other than what undoubtedly is an annoying message from the community college. I am putting that on the back burner.

Sorry to hear about your aunt, I hope she gets better. One of my relatives is also in the quarantine centre now. I don't have a junk drawer, because if do I know that the kids will just shove everything in there.

@Marilynda1225 I can imagine how you must feel about your Aunt. I put things around and if do not need throw it out. You probably had things on your mind and there can be days that one does not want to do decluttering. It is a lot of work. It is Friday here and when I get off of the computer it will be for our Sabbath and tomorrow I will not be here. I will be reading a book and spending time with my cat. I was out and about this morning.
