Well that has happened and not sure how to react to this.
Actually my Aunt (Maas) my mother's younger sister got first Jab of Covaccine and she was due for second Jab this month and when she went for it, she was Accidentally jabbed with Covishield, which she got to know later.
Although there were studies in previous month revealing that mixing of these two give good results but actually this mixing of vaccine is not allowed in India.
Is mixing of vaccine allowed in Your Country?

It is still not allowed but they are speculating on it and seems it might be more effective. I read a report that those who got accidental mix up showed better antibodies in number. And no harmful effects have been reported so far in such cases. I am sure that all will be well with your aunt.

I am hoping she is okay, and no severe side effect. Medical staffs also should have checked the records before vaccinating

Covaccine and covishield both are vaccines for covid 19 made in India. But both are different companies. There are many differences between them. One of them is that covishield is developed by AstraZeneca and oxford and manufactured by serum institute of india. While covaccine is made by bharat biotech. And I don't know about coronavac except that it's sinovac made in china.

In most cases we don't mix the vaccines. The only exception is AstraZeneca. Some people got their first dose of AstraZeneca before it was banned here, and their second dose was one of the other vaccines.

I think the ministry did consider the recommendation for some time but it has never been done. Everyone got the same type.

Yes you are right but she's a very soft-hearted person and does not like to sue or take action against anyone because she's fine and doing well

She's fine and that's important and there were studies claiming the mixing of vaccine was good so it happened accidentally in her case

So has she got it to the notice of those giving the jab?
When would she get her second Covaxin?
