Do I Have a Curse on Me?

I am beginning to wonder!!I am usually fairly lucky and certainly bless in many ways but lately, it seems everything that can go wrong, will go wrong. A tooth on my lower right side hurt me yesterday when I bite a piece of chicken, not a toothache like a cavity but a pain down into my jaw.
I was able to get an appointment with the dentist who did my implant for this afternoon at 2 pm. Well lucky me, I have an abcess on the tooth and it needs to come out. I will be getting another implant but this one is a little different. they need to build up my jaw before they can put in the post so In October they will remove the tooth and do the jaw work and then in 4 months he will in the post and then I will be able to get a crown.
I am now on an antibiotic to get rid of the infection. Hopefully, the tooth will stop hurting in the meantime. It is still throbbing.
I am sure that the cost will be similar if not higher than the last one since there is more work involved. So much for saving any money. The only good news is I will be able to basically pay for it in two parts.
Not much else going on, the same routine as every day. Two more weeks until the YMCA pool opens back up and I can start my Tuesday class. I can't wait.

Thanks, Kharla, I guess I need to take better care of myself, it has been a rather stressful time. I sure can use the prayers.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I think if that happened to me, I would just want the tooth pulled and no crown. I would just deal with a toothless gap.

I know, that thought occured to me too but chances are pretty good I could live a really long time since my mom was 103 and the thought of that gap all this time is not that appealing.

I know the feeling! These past few years I've really felt like there was a curse on me. I hadn't been here for awhile and when I was it wasn't that often so I haven't gotten around to posting about all my issues but I'll get to it in time. Anyway, I sure hope things are going better for you!

I wonder if biting in the chicken caused the infection or whether the tooth already had problems and biting in it woke it up or whatever?

When it rains it pours. I hope your tooth feels better. You answered a question I had. I have a loose front tooth because my jawbone is receding. You said that they have to build up your jawbone before putting in the implant. That's what I was wondering about.

Yes they do the build up first and then after 4 months the post. And then when that heals the tooth. It should be nice and secure.

I am so sorry. I can tell my teeth are pretty fragile. I hope something like that doesn't happen to me, but it might just be a matter of time. Dental work is so expensive.

I never use antibiotics and now I have had 4 prescriptions and all for teeth. Evidently stree must be bad for teeth!!

Yeah this is a different pain than a toothache from a cavity, it was the gums that are sore.
