Had a few bananas that were getting too ripe to eat. So I decided to make a loaf of banana bread.
I usually don't bake much in the summer. But I turned the ceiling fan and kitchen fan on to circulate the heat. And it is done now.
Smells so good in here. These smells always take me back to my childhood.
My mother and grandmother always baked breads. This one remains my favorite to this day.
Photo is mine.

Yum. I have to make some of this soon.
I love banana bread. I'll sometimes use the same recipe but use ripe pears instead of bananas.
That's pretty good too.

It is delicious. I like cream cheese frosting on it. Butter is good. Cream cheese is better

I saw a recipe the other day for banana bread that is pretty confident it is the best you have ever eaten. I want to make that sometime. It calls for honey and buttermilk. Supposedly a lot of celebrities are into this bread, so it must be pretty good.

@CarolDM I haven't either, but I will dry this one, and see what I think.

We had banana bread or banana cake too. A churchmate always drop by selling all different bake goods. Their banana bread is expensive about 150 pesos or 3 dollars per loaf

Just last night I was looking at the banana bread mix in our local grocery store. I was tempted to buy it to make banana bread at home, but decided to hold off a little while longer until we get closer to fall weather. I, too, remember the great smells of things like banana bread when I was a child. My mom loved to bake!

Do you put baking powder or yeast in your bread while baking.

I used to make banana bread from scratch all of the time. Now I have shelves full of quick bread mixes; but I can't get the hubs to make them for me. Sigh.
