Can you tell just how tall those weeds are? In the front part of the picture its mostly wild grasses and smaller weeds but boy do I have a lot of those monstrosities and the worst part are those tiny seeds that are spiny so they stick to your skin, hair and clothes. I'z in fer a rough ride, YIKES Just an instrumental I thought you might like.

Now would be a good time to have a teen aged neighbor looking to make a few bucks. You have a day's worth of work there. And a day's worth of picking all those spiny seeds out of everything you wear. Sorry for you. Ugh.

I don't know of any teens around here, would be nice though if they'd work for cheap .... fixed income here.

@rebelann Hmmmm. Is there a senior services program in El Paso? They will do community work for free. They use volunteers 55 and older. Just a thought.

I keep thinking I want a goat. Or wondering if someone has a "rent a goat". I have lots of sticky weeds as well and it feels like they are worse this year than they have ever been.

I just wonder if a goat could get hurt eating those stickers but boy would I like something that could eat the blasted things. Yeah, it sure seems worse this year.

I like the goat or sheep idea mentioned down below. They would probably make short work of that. I just got done cutting the side yard. It is hardly perfect, but at least it looks like it has been cut.

I kinda like em on the border areas cuz they give me some privacy ..... but then I think of the winds carrying off the seeds.

I wish I could bring you my Weeder- some folks call it a brush cutter.

None of mine are woody types of brush, just weeds with thick trunks. I'll have to cut a couple down to give you a better look see.

@rebelann I typically do not cut brush with my Weeder machine. I cut thick stemmed knee high weeds. And stickery devils, too.

Teens these days don't really want to work hard like we did when we were kids. Yeah, that tune is so kool.

Good. Kids need to learn that hard work equals reward but if they don't work hard then they should get much less.

@rebelann it really is a sad reality, but luckily, for the twins, I don't accept that reality!

I have the feeling the weed wacker would only eliminate the short ones by the lawn chair but not those in the back ground where they're already about 5'

Have you considered renting a goat to eat all those weeds? I love this instrumental piece.

I do not know if anyone here rents goats but I would not want a goat to eat my good plants which is very hard for me to grow in the first place.

@rebelann One year I wanted to ask the farmer down the road to give me a goat for a few days. My vegetable garden is separated and fenced, but I gave up the idea.

I have a lot of weeds to but how to find a way to eliminate more of them next spring before they get out of hand. With my foot I've not been able to weed likei should. Funny thing is normally the side of the porch is usually loaded to and this year that's minimal

They are but they are already dying although the seeds matured so I will get them everytime it rains or I happen to water in the spots where they grew
