Should we live for today or...

It is a winter's day. It is cold and miserable. Two people are waiting at the bus stop. One person is going to the hospital for an operation and is not feeling so good. The other person is going to the airport for a vacation in Hawaii and can't wait to get there. Two people waiting for the same bus but with different destinations. Should we live for today or should we live for a better tomorrow and a better new world? Today may not be so good. We may have challenges. We may not have much choice about what we face. However, the Bible promises a better tomorrow for all who want it. It is ours for the taking!

Yes, it is but better days, better times and a better world will come. We must not lose our faith and we must trust the God of hope.

Vey interesting. It depends on the choice that’s right at the time.

True! No matter what happens in this world and things will happen, we can't let them overwhelm us and paralyze us with fear, for a better future tomorrow is guaranteed by the Almighty God!

@DianneN That is understandable! However, one day in the great future ahead, this situation that we are in will fade away because of the future joys that we will enjoy.

A very interesting premise. Like many things in life one has to make a choice and I'm sure both sides are chosen. Some find it hard to put off present happiness for an everlasting one in the future. At times I want to enjoy life here on earth a little more while I'm still here and put off that better tomorrow. It really comes down to what one seeks. Or maybe a balance of the two.

I find that a good choice brings blessings now and blessings in the future and often a sacrifice now or avoiding a pitfall now brings great blessings later. All the best!

So true! While we can do a lot, history shows that no matter what we do, there are many things that we can't do and so we can rejoice in what God does and yet will do.

We were created uniquely. We have different situations in life. We have different hardships we are battling everyday. What matters most is our reactions and actions towards life.

@kanuck1 in this hard time, where it seems to be no hope around and sometimes we taught about giving up, truly the BIBLE is the best weapon we could rely on.
