Hello, mylotters.
it's been a long time since the last time I logged in here. How are you all doing? I hope everything is fine on your end despite this prolonged pandemic.
Anyways, I just would like to share with you a verse from the book of Genesis
"Let Pharaoh appoint commissioners over the land to take a fifth of the harvest of Egypt during the seven years of abundance.."
Genesis 41:34 (NIV).
I suppose this verse tells us that we should save at least 20% of our income during the "good years" as reserve for a crisis like what we have now.
Have a blessed Sunday!

Yes, I am. However, my savings are still not enough.
There are more expenses than the salary that I get.

@jrlcentral good luck to both of us.
Rule of thumb is you should have at elast six months worth of savings in your emergency fund.
I'm nowhere near that.

yeah. that's what I have experienced. I have just re-building up my emergency funds when the pandemic hit. So pfft. I'm going to start again this September.

I am trying my best to save but it seems that everything is just enough for a day

yeah. That's what I feel too. But we need to change our mentality.
