Is retired life much better?

My aunt was laid off from her work last month. She's almost retired anyway so she just took the compensation money that they offered.
I told her I was envy of her.
She told me she's really bored now.
Maybe she's used to working all her life that she has no idea what to do now. Her daily routine would be jogging, cooking, playing with her cats and watch drama. She also started making random videos for TikTok.
She was pretty excited to be retired. Now she seems to be regretting it a bit.
Is life not exciting anymore after you retired? I thought you can finally rest and take your time for everything.

I'm retired and love it. At first it was hard to adjust to not having to go to work every day but that didn't last long

Mike has been retired since the end of August 2014 and has loved every minute of it. We are on our own time schedule now, we can do what we like when we want to. Some people have a hard time adjusting but this is what we worked hard for. I hope you aunt will enjoy her retirement and not be so bored.

@prashu228 You can't speak for everybody. You can't generalise this. I'm retired but not bored.

@MALUSE Lilie actually the flower Lily. I like the sound of it but not the flower. Also Lilie or Lily is not my real name. So combining the two, it's like saying that's not my name, but I like to use it.
It doesn't have deeper meaning than that.

@prinzcy I've wanted to ask you for some time what your user name means in English. Which language is it?
I'm German and when I see your name, I see a combination of two German words which doesnt make any sense.
Not = distress / misery / hardship / need
Lilie = lily (the flower)
What say?

According to my mother. She don`t want to retire as long as she can still work. That`s why after a year being retired she accepted a consultancy job offer.

If one has hobbies and pass times that is the best phase of one's life

Unless you have a very full life, retirement is dull and boring

I've been off work since January this year and haven't regretted it yet. (Of course, I still edit manuscripts for authors I know once in a while... I was gone from myLot last week while I edited one manuscript and have another manuscript I'm supposed to edit in hand... I've started it but had to put it on hold for a bit... )
I think, once your aunt figures out what she wants to do now that she's retired, she'll be fine.

@prinzcy I plan on still editing manuscripts after I retire. It's good money and doesn't take a lot of time.
Ask her what kind of things does she like to do and see if there is anything online that fits that description. She can always join groups that talk about the things she likes doing. That would give her social contact and something to do at the same time.

I think it depends on whether or not you have a hobby you want to focus your attention on, if you don't, it is just boring and kind of empty.

Like anything in life you have to have a game plan.
I would be bored silly if I retired, so I continue to work.
Ten years ago I felt that I was ready, and I quit my job but I returned to the workplace the following year as I was too young and nobody else my age was retired so I became lonely.

How old is she? Once a person retires, his or her body and brain starts to slow down. I have a friend who is in her late 60s, she started to forget this and that, became thinner
