My Friends Survived the Hurricane

A sleepless night worrying about friends in the path of Hurricane Ida.
As well as friends here on the site. Still waiting to hear from some here, and hoping for good news.
My friends are safe. Dustin's godparents have weathered the storm. They have no power and she said their yard looks like a war zone with all of the trees down. But they are safe. I am so happy to hear that news.
Now I can enjoy my coffee in the screen room with my cats.
Photo is one of my Eeyore coffee mugs.

That is wonderful news. At this point who cares what the outside looks like at least they are alive and well,

It is a big relief to know that. Hope all stay safe. I saw the visuals on news. There has been huge devastation.

@CarolDM I saw the visual of it blowing the roof of one hospital and causing much more devastation. Social media is flooded with videos of River Mississippi flowing in opposite direction due to the strong wind.

@arunima25 Many roofs were blown off and a lot of flooding in more than one state.

I know you’re relieved! I saw that building where Louis Armstrong played as a youngster collapsed in New Orleans early on in the hurricane and I thought, “This is going to make Katrina look like a shower.” They were touting how good their levees and pumps were. Well, sure enough, one failed and the power went out in the entire city, leaving they pumps useless.

Glad to know they’re ok. Natural disasters can really be devastating. So far we have been spared by the bad weather. And i hope we will continue to be spared from it. Other cities and provinces in the country suffered from landslides and flooding last month.

@CarolDM we’ve been through that. We haven’t had power for more than three months. Fortunately, we could afford a backup generator set.
