My Facebook account has been hacked, and I can't contact Facebook to fix it or delete my account!

Someone managed to hack my Facebook account. If I try to reset my password, the code is sent to an email in (I believe) Davenport Iowa (a small city of the Illinois/Iowa border). My email address is no longer associated with my account. If any of you who are also my Facebook friends see any weird posts on my Facebook page (Mary Taylor Greene ads, naked people, etc.) they are NOT from me. If you can, can you "flag" my account somehow? Facebook has no phone number or email address and there is no way I can contact them if I am not logged in. --- Addendum: There is lore associated with every writing website. At Epinions, they (the admin.) once tried to take away our ability to edit or remove our own articles. They were taking our work "hostage." One of the more clever writers there suggested we all write "Epinions Blows Dogs" reviews, each with that title, and each with as much foul obscene content as could be gotten away with. Epinions was an internationally known product review site with wide appeal among non-Epinions writers. Several of Epinions's top writers (myself included) wrote foul and obscene posts, guaranteed to tarnish Epinions's (at that time) fine reputation. The rebellion worked, and we got our editing and deleting rights back soon thereafter. I heard that, long before I was here, a member tried to delete his MyLot account. After all other measures failed, he posted a photo of a large erect penis on one of his posts, and finally managed to gt his account deleted. Veterans: Is that really true? I am temped to ask all MyLot friends to post large erect penis photos on my YouTube page with the text: "This account has been hacked. Please help its rightful owner!" But please don't do so yet. --- In all seriousness: It's kind scary thinking about who has all of my Facebook information. My posts are pretty benign, but the hacker could easily gather information about my friends, my business associates, and others who visit my pages. Any suggestions?

Yikes. This has happened to a lot of my friends and once way back to me. I wish I knew something you could do but I will see if I can find something on facebook that might help. I'm not sure this will help but I found a link I don't know what else to look for but I do remember when it happened to me many years ago that I simply went in a created a new account but then I don't have many friends who actually use facebook so it didn't impact anyone or me.

@rebelann Where did you find it? I worry that it's some scam artist who will help you out "for a small fee."

May be you can open a new account just so that you can contact FB and have your other account deleted or revived.

Oh no sorry to hear about your FB page getting hacked and used by others. The only thing you could do is have your friends notified and have them report to FB so that they will act on it. I do not know if that one that you did will work but it might.

@TheHorse yep there are no guarantees on it. Just do it as regularly as possible and show them evidences that you own it. Plus with your friends helping you report it might just be convince fb to believe you.

@rsa101 I hope some of my friends report the issue. I also hope that the hackers don't post weird sh*t" on my account. One of my guitar students today told me that the hackers are active at UC Berkeley right now as well (she works in IT there).

I created a "new" account with a new name and notified them of the issue. Will they act on it? Who knows.

First - this is the link to regain access to your FB account I suspect I am not here long enough (roughly 3 years give or take) to know if that story is true. but it is very interesting

I just hope I can delete my account so the Russians or Chinese (or Trump) can't post weird stuff there.

Just let your friends know. Ask a friend to report your account as hacked/stolen, and ensure they give the correct e-mail in which to contact you. Same thing happened to a friend of mine, but the hacker was stupid enough to change her password before changing her e-mail. And, I had to do the same for her.

I'm not sure what was done in my case. It saddens me that a fairly large company like Facebook allows you now way to contact them. I'm contacting my lawyer.

How would it been hacked I wonder? I have an idea for you. Create a new account, then search for your hacked account and report it. Anybody on MyLot who are friends on the hacked account need to report it. If enough of you report it, it could then be put in Facebook jail for awhile then it could be taken down.

That's basically what I've been doing. I created another account, requested that the original account be fixed or deleted, and I hope to ask a friend or two to "report" the hacked account as well.

Davenport is a small city??? Excuse me? Since when is a population of 101,724 small???? SanFransisco has some suburbs that aren't even that big!

@xander6464 Now I'm going to have to check the populations of the most throbbing cities in my other "adopted" state, Montana. We have Bullings. We have Great Falls. And then there are the college towns: Missoula and Bozeman. HUGE!

Here is my recent story. I am not sure if my FB account was totally hacked or how this all happens, What I know is that someone kept sending friend requests to my friends who were asking me what was happening. I told them just to delete the request. Then one friend sent a link and it was to a fictitious account that had my profile photo but none of the posts I usually make, So I blocked that profile and that worked and then one friend reported this and now it seems that all is well again, However, I could always keep getting into Facebook and never had an issue with my password or anything else, I hope you get your account figured out,

Although I rarely use FB, somehow I ended up with two accounts. When I tried to delete one, it deleted both but I had three weeks or whatever to change my mind. So now I still have two accounts!! And still rarely use it. Good luck with sorting out your problems.

Are you saying you cannot log in to your account? I'd think the email you use to log in to FB is the email you'd get notified of anything related to your account, including attempting to reset your password.

Something similar happened to my aunt in the past few weeks. She hasn't been able to resolve it either.
