What can you talk about for hours?

United States

What is a subject, either online or off, that you could talk about for hours? I consider myself to be an extroverted introvert. I need lots of time to just be in my own head and think, but I also enjoy some conversations here and there. I love talking about the past, whether it be my own, whomever I am talking to, or the past in general. I like talking about ancestral stuff. I love talking about how things are, why they are the way they are. I steer clear of politics whenever I can. I might skirt the edge of the subject but I stay away otherwise. What about you? What can you talk about for hours?

All things you've mentioned here, including the screen room which overlooks Dustin's Garden if memory serves.

Food, but I don't know too many people who like to talk about it as much as I do. I do talk about it with my mother pretty often though.

Food can be fun to talk about. I like learning new recipes especially. It's harder since I do keto, most of the time I just talk to the small group of people I know who also do keto.

Nearly everything I suppose. It's easier to say what I don't talk about. Fashion, interior design and make-up come to mind.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'm not even sure what I think looks nice. I know what I think's awful, but that's not a good way to start a conversation. I usually just smile and hope the topic changes. Also football and celebrities. I don't know who most of them are when they're just known for being known.

@Torunn I don't watch a lot of television or sports. I am always lost with those conversations too. I'm more apt to tell someone if something doesn't look nice, but I am also careful with my words. A friend painted the walls of their bathroom in different colors. I told her that I thought she should have painted them opposite instead of the way she did. The colors were nice, but the way she had it laid out was not.

I do not have a lot to say on those subjects either. Interior Design maybe, but only as far as what I think looks nice.

I love animals and cats are some of my favorites. They are misunderstood a lot but are true companions.

@Hannihar I never understand why people are afraid of black cats in particular. With the exception of one, every single black cat I've been around has been cuddly and very talkative.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Or a gerbil, we had a gerbil when my son was little..it was fun. They shred cardboard tubes to add to their bedding which is kind of useful.

@snowy22315 Oh hmm.. My cousins had gerbils when I was young. I think they also had hamsters. I believe Gerbils require a lot of exercise though, right? They like those fancy tunnels?

I love talking about (and getting pictures of) my best friend's cats. I keep thinking about getting a hamster. Would have to get something that is in a cage all the time.

That would depend on the company too. If it's BFF and I, we can talk for hours on various topics.

I don't talk about anything... You know I never show up to continue talking on myLot... I'd rather not talk about politics or religion, although I've been known to do both. *shrug*

Oh yeah, I've definitely done both and here as well. I'll say "I don't like to talk about it" but sometimes I have to put my foot in it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum If/When someone I like has something bad happen and they're the religious type, I tell them what they really want to hear. *shrug* It happens.

I can pretty much talk about anything but like you I steer away from politics (especially online). Mostly I like to talk about my grandkids, books, food and tv shows.

Oh yes, people blow things way out of proportion online. Better to steer clear of politics because of it.

I can talk about a lot of things if I get a good company to do so. Be it music, books, movies, cooking...I have a long list. Politics is my favourite but I chose that only if I have a tolerant group around else that's my last pick.
