More Hurricane Coverage ~ Two Were Killed

Was reading about the damages caused from Hurricane Ida. Many states have damage. Millions are without power. Alabama reported several tornadoes and flooding. A small town called Lucedale, MS also got 14 inches of rain. I know people in this area. They are all safe. But two were killed when a road gave away. Ten were injured as their vehicles plummeted down a 50 foot hole where the road gave away. A horrible scene. This happened Monday night. A two-lane country road. They could not see for all of the rain that the road was just washed away. I cannot imagine. This link (from the local news) shows video of the cranes pulling the vehicles out of the washed away road.

Oh that was so difficult to watch, those poor people, and the first responders, they will need some serious counselling. I hope that the rest of 'hurricane season' fizzles out as the days pass. I think that it last for another month or so.

@CarolDM Obviously the motto to this story is to stay in unless it is an emergency. It looked like a very dark road, and with the rain it would make visibility poor. I hope that people stay in and stay safe, especially those close to you.

I know, and I I have friends in the area but they are safe. The people had no chance. They did not know the road was gone. We will have rain until later tonight.

@Juliaacv No lighting, a two lane country road. The only road in the area. My friends are safe. Some of these were checking on families.

The picture looks more like an earthquake. I saw some news video of the damage caused by the wind. Not at all good
