New Fridge.

Yesterday we got our new fridge. A few months ago, our old one started to get water inside. It'd been keeping temp, so we'd held off. Last week my husband took me to best buy, after we checked out John's appliance and bedding a few days before that. And, Best Buy had a better price. So... I had George take me to the store to look at a display model, so he could get a hands-on idea of what it'd look like. Came yesterday while he was at work and it works like a dream.
They told us it could take up to two days to start making ice. Well, it started making ice a few hours after the ice maker was installed. Been a little over 24 hours, and the bucket the ice maker comes with has a decent ammount of ice. So.... there was that.

Hooray for you. It's always such a nice thing to get new appliances.

Yeah. While our old one still held temp, the fact that the defrost system failed, tells us something else could go out. Rather than wait for that to happen, we replaced it.

Awesome that is producing ice so fast. Ours is leaking water inside too 
. I told my husband we need a new one. I hope he doesn’t wait until it stops keeping things cold because things are taking a long time to order during corona and I don’t want to have to go without one.

@kaylachan that’s great to hear. I’m in the Northern part of Pennsylvania. I had no idea they even sell fridges at Best Buy. I thought it was computers and things like that.

I don't know where in the U.S. you live, but we bought ours at Best Buy, and it was delivered and installed within a week. On top of that, they also hauled our old fridge away. Our fridge also needed a new part (the new one) and they had one on their truck. Only thing I had to do was pay for it.

Awesome. I hope it lasts you for decades ..... I remember those good ole days when a fridge would last for many decades but boy were they heavy and clunky, not attractive like todays models and no ice makers in those.

I think we are going to have to get a new one also as we keep getting the water on the bottom. It is a pain empting it all the time. Our microwave had to be replaced last month so I guess everything is going to start falling apart as so many things were purchased around the same time.
