No lemons, so I eat raw onions - cough and cold no more YAY

I keep on going to market to scout for lemons, but still none. I feel ashamed to my students during virtual lectures when so suddenly my throat itches to cough out.
Last night, I felt so desperate. When I went to kitchen, I saw one basket of big onions. I got 2 and sliced them in roundular manner, mixed the onions with green tomatoes, and added century tuna in canned. I ate them, it was chilly that my sister suspected me crying. They are so plentiful. I eat them all, no break. After eating, I felt sleepy. I brushed my teeth for 5 minutes and floss with listerine to remove bad mouth. Then when I woke up in the morning, my cough and cold disappeared. My throat is crystal clear. I'm happy now as if I'm in Cloud 9.
Thanks for reading, keep safe all. Love you guys.

My mother slices onions since the start of this pandemic and places them in our living room because she read that it can absorb the virus... LOL

Oh gosh, I wish I could give you our lemons (we have a tree!). Wow, I'll have to try that onion trick when the time comes! My friend says that when her kids are coughing at night, she puts sliced onion on a plate by their bed and apparently that helps! So there just may be something about that onion ! Glad your throat is all better!

@much2say, yes, me too did it this evening slicing 3 big onions place the slices in medium size tupper ware and place it in the bedroom of my niece. She got infected with the fever of my elder sister. I hope she wouldn't throw the onions once the odor spreads after some hours this evening. I hope not.

Good the onions healed your throat. If there are no lemon you can have calamansi. I drink hot calamansi every morning and before bedtime.

@florelway, there are also no calamansi sold in the market, that made frustrated last night. That's why I tried the onions, and it worked for me.

@cacay 1 lemons and calamansi could be in high demand. Wish I can give you some calamansi. A friend told.me she gargles milk after eating garlic and onion to remove the odor.
