Teachers are required once a week online meeting via GoMeet or Zoom in case USTeP the university's online portal under Amazon Clouds and American United Services get congested for there are now 34, 876 student users excluding teachers more or less 1,456 for the 8 satellites University system. I was thankful there was no power interruption despite weather bad due to storm, but Internet connection was affected, however, everything went well. I almost lost my voice for I taught 4 subjects this day. I announced beforehand to give oral quiz and many were present whoaaa. I taught they won't appear. The school requires teachers to submit Video Recordings during online lectures, Attendances and Pictures taken screened shots during lectures to be submitted during midterm term to prove teachers are doing their jobs online. Photo here taken during this day's online class with my Civil Engineering students. Thanks guys keep safe. Love yah all.

I know that teaching having your students in front of you is a lot better. Unfortunately with this pandemic it is too dangerous.

@LadyDuck , yes, but most classes here are done online , except in the primary and high school, some parents request modulling method for they do not have gadget and internet connection, poor kids.Teachers are forced to deliver the modules good for 3 weeks modules.

@LadyDuck, so true. I missed the f2f classes. I want to see the smiles of my students and their glittering eyes. This time during our virtual meeting, I make them laugh. Students are afraid of the lessons for it's different in f2f.

Online teaching is not that effective as students are not able to pay equal attention to the lectures Plus there is always the network problem...and eyes are strained too Online classes can't be compared to the offline or physical classes

@CuriousGab, correct, my eyes always ache looking at the screen. I don't have monitor filter this time. We're on lockdown, malls closed . Yes students can't concentrate especially if they are on data plan. One student pm me telling she doesn't have a gadget. I plan to give her my extra netbook. She's a Muslim student poor student.

@CuriousGab, the same here, but I won't allow my students to use PowerPoint presentation, they have to use video and convert to mp4. They're more on Fillmora and Kinemaster.

@cacay1 Yeah,it's so hard for poor students. Our teachers ask us to make ppt or word files sometimes and poor students who donot have laptop find it hard to complete the assignments

I still like the classroom set up than the online classes. I know it is very exhausting on the part of the teachers and even stressful for students who does not have good internet connection. My niece is in grade 7 this year and will classes on September 13th. She chose module set up instead of online class. Good thing though, the school provides lecture on Facebook where they can watch the teachers discuss the lessons for better understanding.

@jobelbojel , there are also schools in Ph using modules those kids who do not have gadget and internet connection, so pitiful. Teachers despite crucial time will be forced to deliver the modules home to home/

I think it is better to teach face to face. Too bad there is no way to choice. Sometimes life gets in the way.

@HazySue, In this pandemic, there's no choice for the virus case in Philippines soars high. We have in my city alone nonestop Lockdown due to the presence of Delta Variant, Lambda, Kappa . It's so distressing. It seems nowhere to hide

@cacay1 It is an awful thing that we are not able to relate to other humans face to face. Unfortunately it is necessary to stay locked down to keep safe. I am so glad that I am no longer teaching. I would find it extremely hard to do it the way you re required to.

@HazySue, yes it's difficult to teach online. It's difficult to trace students, but technology is at par that it could connect people virtually.

Am also getting fed up with all these webinars. Agencies take turns in giving out webinars that it hampers our day to day activities. I need to send out people to yhe field but due to this webinars I have to reschedule everything and considering the skeletal schedules.

@prashu228, as long as the virus is present online classes remain. Gadget sellers this time are so happy for their laptops, netbooks and high definition cellular phones soar and every semester, many buy them for online classes.

@sol_cee, yes they're first year college BS-CE, most of them fall to ages 19 - 24 due to high school programs. Their age is supposed to be in 3rd year college. I don't like the extra years in high school wasting time and money.

@adepprafir, it's indeed tiresome. This day my eyes ache because I checked the students output direct on my computer screen. It has no monitor filter yet due to lockdown. My previous monitor filter was borrowed by a friend and didn't return it. I can't anymore reach him
