Tuesday was exhausting. First of all I didn’t get much sleep, I woke up at 2am, 3am and then 4am when I decided I might as well get up. I was nervous about Roscoe going to day care.
So Roscoe got to day care by 8:30am and I headed to the other side of town for my lunch date.
I ended up eating lunch alone mostly because my friend got a very late start and showed up around 10:30am instead of 10am.
The food was delicious, that’s the upside. But my friend got there late then because she had made an appointment with the local VA that morning had to leave by noon to get there on time. She invited me to go with her but I declined, I went to Costco instead.
That was a good move on my part, I accidentally met up with first 1 friend then another and had a wonderful conversation with each of them. They have grand children so their lives are always busy with sitting for their kids.
Surprisingly my lunch ‘date’ called me about 2:30pm and asked to meet me for a cup of coffee. Starbucks was nearby so I met her there but by 3:15pm we were both ready to head home. Well, in my case I needed to go get Roscoe.
Roscoe was exhausted, thankfully and I was told he had a blast with all the other pups she cares for. She is a German woman and was very honest with me about the fact that I was the one who’d need training. She explained what I'd been doing wrong and then asked me to schedule training us about once a week, she plans to charge me $25 for each session which sounds a lot better than coming up with $650.
I'm the one who will be trained to train Roscoe.
Ahhh, what a fail

You met a good trainer. Congrats. Sorry but you are not unique. It's almost always about the human and rarely just the dog. All those times with young Sally..... "stand up tall!" yelled at me not Sally- then a double take on me and my back. "Well, as tall as you can!" In other words, I had to learn to boss Sally and not have Sally boss me. And then there's Rufus. Super Boss. (Innocently snoozing in his doggie doughnut right now.) I love your photo. I'm glad you had such a wonderful day. I hope you get some sleep now.

Yes, she told me the same thing. I suppose most people, me included, give in to puppy intiks cuz they're so cute but it doesn't help them to learn proper behavior. I'm going to heed this lady's advice.
I'm so glad you like my pic, I took a ton of shots Wednesday.

Well, to me that seems to be 2 different aspects of a dog, one is physical tolerance the other is emotional. I think that emotionally a dog can take what we dish out as long as we don't give the impression we are angry at them all the time.

@rebelann Somebody on the Cattle Dog website said something the other day that sticks with me. He said along these lines: "Don't worry about hurting your dog's feelings. If they can deal with a thousand pound cow, they can deal with you."

I actually think it is a bonus to know his moods, he can be very testy sometimes.

I sure did.
I hope he will be but first I will have to learn how to go about training him.
