Day 90 1 Kings 8:35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflict them: 36 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance. 37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be; 38 What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house: 39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou know; (for thou, even thou only, know the hearts of all the children of men;) 40 That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gave unto our fathers. You know when you sin. No one needs to tell you, though many people point out your faults. Solomon continued his prayer, dedicating the temple to God. He asked God to forgive the people when their hearts told them about their sin. As Christians, you see the problems facing you and feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit when you sin. Don’t ignore them and hope they will go away. Search your heart and seek God’s forgiveness, and He will forgive you. God forgives the sincere, repentant heart. You don’t need to fear God and wonder whether He will forgive you. He promised to forgive when you ask for forgiveness. He also promised never to bring your sin up against you once He forgives you. What are you waiting for? Repent and ask God’s forgiveness today. Let’s pray: Father, You know my heart. You know my sin. You know everything about me. Forgive me and draw me closer to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 10 September 2021 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay.
