mom has a talent in small talk

She can talk with random strangers like they've been friends the whole time. She says she was quite silent as a child and now she's making up for it. I don't think I can ever do that. I'm always shy around strangers and do not trust people easily. What about you?

People don't believe me when I tell them I was shy as a kid and teen... I forced myself to talk to people after I got out of school... I didn't want to be shy anymore. Now I talk to everybody... all the time.

@jstory07 I let other people talk when I have to take a breath... My dad really did talk non-stop... After he passed away mom said she could finally say something.

I am kind of quiet myself since due to this political correctness, I prefer to keep quiet since some people will take my jokes out of context and make me look like a villain just for being nice to them.
