Do you have a printer at home?

Today, I had to print some documents but I don't have a printer at home. My sister has one and she always prints stuff I needed printing like most of my kids' school projects but she lives very far. We are new in the neighborhood so I don't know if there's a print shop or something near our house. This is just so inconvenient. Now I'm thinking of buying one. Then maybe I can offer printing services to our neighbors. I don't know, like one peso per page? No idea how much it costs but it’s doable. Anyway, what should I consider in buying a printer?

Try buying a printer with scanner too. I like the brand Epson

The printers may be cheap(er) but that's because the printer companies charge you an arm and a leg for the ink... Check to see what the price of the full cartridges of ink are for the printer you're thinking about buying... And remember that the price of ink will go up, usually drastically, a year after the printer was first manufactured by that company although you might be able to get ink cartridges that still fit it from an off-brand company.

@sol_cee It's helpful almost six months after you asked about it?
You're welcome. I hope it is helpful next time you buy a printer

I hope you found a way to print those.
I do have printers but both of them is a nuisance.

@sol_cee I use them to print but mine are Canon printers and now because of the chip shortage, it is hard to find the ink to refill them.

I planned to buy one before but with almost everything being digitally saved, I decided not to get one.

I have a color laser printer, that is more expensive but the cost per copy is less if you use it professionally. For a "printing service" I would definitely consider a laser and not an ink jet.
I had a HP first, then a Brother, Canon has been the more reliable, the HP and Brother both do not work well if it is too humid.

@sol_cee - We had a professional business, we needed good printers in our office. Brother is a good brand for black and white laser printers, Canon does a better job with colors. As soon as they were available, we had laser printers, inkjet cartridges are expensive.

We have one but we seldom use it now. It was bought for the purpose of printing church materials before like schedule of lectors and commentators, novenas and other announcements... My mother is no longer active in church.

I have an Epson L210. Very convenient indeed. You should get one if you need and will make your life easier.

Same here. I've been planning to buy a printer. My son will start to go to school very soon so,it is really important to have one. On my previous job,I used Epson and brother. I could say that they are both okay, but between the two I'd suggest Epson.

Our old HP printer is no longer working, but we use it for scanning now and then.
I think it's more convenient to have one if you have school age kids.
