I love storms. Especially big thunderstorms. I like to listen to the rain, watch the lightning.

You should have seen the storm we had in our area yesterday! It literally cam down in buckets at angles because of the strong wind. Lightning was all over the place and we had about 10 strikes at about 100 meters away, which is way close! I film lighting, but there was no way I was going out yesterday - too dangerous! Pitty though, I am sure they would have make some great shots! Oh an we had a lot of hail aswell. It rained 60 mm in about 40 minutes, and then it was all over! Short but intense!

I was very afraid of storms until I was a teenager but now I love them unless there are tornado warnings or high winds. There was nothing I could do to stay calm when I was afraid

This may sound extremely crazy.. But it depends on the Spirits temperments within the storm. I work with weather Spirits so I have learned different rain and storm spirits have different moods, most are aimed a cleansing, balancing, and reknewing the land... However, I have met some pretty angry thunder spirits who are usually mad over not being appreciated... Usually I calm them down by thanking them from the rain...
The only downside about working with the thunder and rain spirits is well. They like to literally drop in often.. However.. IF that is not scary enough I have developed an interesting relationship with the lightning beings too.. And they love to drop in my house and there is usually not a storm where the lightning does not at least fly by me or strike close within 3-6 feet during nearly every storm. I been hit by lightning more than once.... So I had to go through the Post Traumatic Stres and anxiety attacks of this. But an interesting thing happened. I was more afraid of lightning before I was hit, than afterwards.. Now I am not as afraid of it as I used to be this does not mean that I will not at times run backwards or do an amazing 10-12 foot leap from a stand still if I think a bolt is heading directly towards me.. as I try not to be a lightning rod to much :) .. It just means I understand the thunder storms as I have done alot of research about it... as well as seen many bolts, and also know that if we do get hit its so quick that there is not real pain. It is just sharp tingles.... However, overheating, and sorness can set in later, and usually the damages of lightning strike do not show right away unless you got it by a major bolt.
Anyhow lightning, high winds.. are scary.. but if I can reach the Spirits within the storm, and they are in a good mood, then I am not as afraid of them. Usually for me with what I do if I can sing and dance for them... They usually will not damage anything, and I learned that sometimes they will. I was joking about a month ago, said... Please take out the Direct TV it is so annoying.. That is when the bolt hit the house three times within 15 minutes the Upstairs bathroom, and branched through the walls four rooms and fried the direct tv box in front of me.. Pop! ...
Just after I had turned it off.. i was like... oopsie...
I was lucky that I sat down instead of standing in the middle of the room, as I saw the lightning branch under the carpet too I could have had my 8th lightning shock... I am not sure at this point whether I see myself as luck or unlucky, or just a living lightning rod :) .
I hope you enjoyed my sharing from a very different view on storms, Take care...

It is great to watch those storms..same time i'm scared.
I never watch them alone,i know its exciting but i'd rather prefer to watch even with my younger brother or sister.
There are things we can do like closing doors,windows..putting on some music or tuning to tv.
But if are really scared, you make sure you have a company..so that you won't be scared..and i do the same :)
