My poor, old laptop

Until this time I'm still using my 12 years old lappy. I'm so happy that it didn't put me to shame in my morning class and in my 1:00-2:30 class but in the remaining classes at 4:30 - 6:00 it freakedout 
, sound lost but returned after 7 minutes off and on.
I can't go to the university this weekend, the IT head is not available, so no one can reboot my new laptop. My morning class are graduating students only 26 of them and it's a request subject most of them take 2 , take 3 of the subject. They were flunkers. I pity these students, I won't hold them. I'll let them graduate come February 2022.

My husband has an older laptop, it's working fairly well. I'd say it's about ten years old. Myself, I use my desktop for everything online. I refuse to get involved with doing it with a smart phone.

@kobesbuddy, that's good, my laptop seems overused. There are many activities, videos to create, classrooms and numerous submissions of students in videos, PPT and more. My other laptop is 1 year old, it lapsed 2 weeks for a free repair under warranty it can't be anymore

@m_audrey6788, I cannot go to the university this time to have the IT experts reboot my laptop. We're on lockdown and the IT in charge is still not available. Only 3 of them works f2f, others chose WFH.

It's good that 12 years old laptop is still working although it has slight hiccups from time to time.. =)
I think my other laptop is also 12 years old. It is still working too but it has no more battery and it's too slow now so I don't use it anymore. Maybe I have to check it again some other time and see what I can do with it.

, my goodness, better buy a new laptop. I see in Shoppe laptops Toshiba 14 inches 7 thousand plus hehehe. I will try to buy a new laptop during Christmas, Shoppe might have many stuffs on sale. I haven't bought anything from Shoppe only my niece almost 2 weeks interval. I am also not so sure if their laptops are workable. It's on info that they're branded and saw the comments of the buyers. I am checking the store seller. I like it from Shoppe Makati. Laptop is so expensive. I bought my Lenovo at 48,000 1 year ago and it needs to reboot now. It seems nonsense buying expensive laptop that does not last for many years, unlike my old lap top it's been 12 years.

I had asked at the mall in Baguio before and they said they have it but it costs 2,500 so I was still thinking if it's good to buy the battery or just use it without a battery. Hmmm I think I should not invest on the old laptop anymore. Actually it also needs a new keyboard...

@RebeccasFarm , before the adding and dropping, I have to make sure not to offend my students or else I'll run out of loads to teach. Thankfully none dropped, but worse is it's gaining and adding from 39 now 44 students. The same to other sections. How nice if many will transfer to other sections , but adding and dropping ended September 18.

@RebeccasFarm, thanks my friend, yes I have to let them graduate. I have observed they're good students. The reason why most of them take 2,take 3 it's because they drop when they don't like their teacher

I still have my old laptop but don't use it. I get a new one every 3 years or so and I keep the older ones.

Mine is 9 yrs old and it's really showing signs of deterioration. I think I'm going to save some money to buy a new one by next year before it's too late.

@CarolDM, they're very good in their major subjects, they lack focus on their minor they are BS Electro Mechanical Technology 5th year. The subject I'm teaching them is Physics with Rigid Bodies. It's not difficult for them but if they don't like the teacher they dropped and others in conflict of other subjects.

my laptop is as old as yours, it's been almost ten years since my dad bought it, even though now my old laptop engine sounds like a lawn mower lol, there will be noise in class and library when i turn on the laptop, but so many memories here

wow this is like an online college that I've been in for 1 year, it's so exciting but on the one hand it also makes me sleepy.
I remember that one class of mine was filled with 30 students, it was busier and noisier when studying in an air-conditioned classroom. but it's a shame because of the online lecture the class atmosphere is so quiet, only the lecturer's voice appears on the laptop screen
oh yes, there was a funny incident, during college there was a student who forgot to turn off the microphone and there was a noise at home, even on the video conference screen there was a student who had just taken a shower lol, it's weird what my friends do as students

@youfiq, I also caught my student with someone beside him in bed, others still lying on bed, one ate her breakfast then others were having unkempt self. They forgot to put off their cam. Then while busy talking I heard the barking of dogs, loud sound and more. It's funny despite irritating. We need to be resilient teacher, compassionate and understanding in this trying time where classes are done online
